My journey in the visual arts began long ago, informed by my intense interest in other cultures and ways of life. Over the years I’ve been privileged to travel extensively — often to places that outwardly could not be more different from my home but whose people share the same fierce desire for spiritual nourishment and an infinite capacity for creativity.
Though classically trained in drawing and painting, I have always gravitated to the dimensional and to the natural richness of wood and stone, so sculpture in its many forms has become my major form of artistic expression. I enjoy exploring texture and how we interact with three dimensional objects because often that interaction is much more dynamic and direct than with other art forms.
